The 300 Blackout cartridge, also known as 300 AAC Blackout or Blackout has proven to be an effective means for taking thin skinned game cartridge within 100 yards. When containing a 220 grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) projectile, the .300 blackout travels at supersonic speeds. This means that the projectile travels more than 980 feet per second which is faster than the speed of sound.
